Here are my top ten favourite YA reads of 2009. The links go to my reviews on this blog. The stand-out book for me was
Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher which moved and gripped me in equal measure.
Kelley Armstrong - The Summoning
Jay Asher - Thirteen Reasons Why
Lara Fox - Miss Understanding: My Year in Agony
Neil Gaiman - The Graveyard Book (audio)
Helen Grant - The Vanishing of Katharina Linden
Michael Grant - Gone
Amanda Marrone - Uninvited
Melinda Metz - Roswell High: The Outsider
Stephenie Meyer - Twilight
Carrie Ryan - The Forest of Hands and Teeth
Great picks Karen. Thirteen Reasons Why and The Graveyard Book are amazing, and I think everyone knows my thoughts on Twilight. :) Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteextremely well said, prophecygirl! ;D
ReplyDeleteI agree The Summoning, The Graveyard Book and The Forest of H & T are all Fabulous! I haven't read any of the others, well, except Twilight, but I'll keep silent on that one.
ReplyDeleteI must read The Vanishing of Katharina Linden. It sounds really interesting. The Graveyard Book is so original. Loved it.
ReplyDeleteThirteen Reasons Why sounds a really unusual concept - must have a look at it. And I didn't realize you could get Roswell books - thank you! Can't wait to remind myself of this great story...
ReplyDeletere Roswell books - I confess I've had the first two for about ten years! The library also has a few in the series and ebay has the rest quite cheaply thankfully. I loved the tv series - especially the first season - it went a bit complicated later on with clones and things and the books so far are more like S1. I've now read the first three.
